Context
The cage stripped to its pure mechanism: two men locked in with the thing they want, refusing food, water, and a diabetic's insulin, their only utterance a cry of impatience at the rewinder. It is the shape of every terminal habit — the object crowds out survival itself, and the last articulate sound the addicted make is the demand to run it back one more time.
