Stice's "The Darkness" was literally "the Wraith" in MS-1993 — Hal even calls him "Wraithster."

This is a renaming: the same material survives, but names or labels changed between draft and print.

In the manuscript. The nickname is "the Wraith" outright.

In the published book. Stice scenes 84 (pp. 394–395), 125/127/130 (the Hal–Stice match, pp. 651–682), 167 (pp. 864–876, Stice stuck to the window); published hint at p. 943

Evidence. A single source reports this. But Moore holds a photocopy of the 1993 manuscript; treat as strong. Documented by Steven Moore's first-draft collation.

Bears on. This difference bears on the following open questions: is the wraith real (vs. Gately's fever).
