Documented by Steven Moore's first-draft collation (aftermath expansion); Michael Pietsch's editing retrospective (margin note fighting for "pp. 327-330": "Michael, have mercy. Pending an almost Horacianly persuasive rationale on your part, my canines are bared on this one."); the Five Dials memorial program (the same margin note in its EARLIEST print carrier — Five Dials No. 10, from the 2008-10-23 Skirball memorial, UK printing "pp. 327−30 … my canines are bared on this one").

Further notes. The Mean Value Theorem endnote was one he refused to lose D.T. Max's biography of Wallace. Attestation-date correction: the Pietsch margin-note run (pp. 52 "you rotter" / 82 / 133 / 327−30 / 739−48 / 785ff) first appeared in print in Five Dials No. 10 (2008) the Five Dials memorial program, ~8 months before Michael Pietsch's editing retrospective's Sonora Review Q&A (May 2009) and its Infinite Summer posting (2009-07-03) — cite both; Michael Pietsch's editing retrospective remains the fuller editorial-context carrier, and both printings carry the same six notes (no fuller set). Transmission variance between the two edited printings (UK Five Dials vs US IS/Sonora): favourite/favorite, "back-up disk"/"back-up disc", "pp. 327−30" (U+2212)/"pp. 327-330", "the eleventh time"/"the 11th time", "5,000 words"/"5000 words" — neither is the manuscript facsimile; quote each carrier as written (do not re-spell the archive's held US-transmission quotes to Five Dials).
