Someone kept claiming mysterious racket breakage until a Dunlop rep passing through Allston spotted three kids on three corners hawking new Dunlop rackets — which Dunlop charged amounted to nearly a "Conspiracy to Defraud" (p. 1000), tagged with one of the novel's cryptic date-codes.
