Endnote 369 — the accidental killing
Details Gately's violent history as a collector. Sorkin used the loyalty-free ex-Québecer enforcers DesMontes and Pointgravè; Gately himself killed only once, and by accident — a blond debtor drinking Heinekens Maced him in the face, "a red curtain of rage had descended" (p. 1078), and he came to with the man's head twisted 180° and the Mace can up one nostril. It horrified him more than anything until "the suffocated Canadian P.I.T." much later.
