Endnote 222 — the difficulty of Marathe's dialect

A language note: Marathe speaks not standard European French but Québecois French, a dialect the note likens to Basque for difficulty, so thorny that Steeply barely scraped an "'Acceptable'" (p. 1036) in it during interview training and it resists clean translation into English.
