Defines the cluster of congenital-condition terms the Incandenzas learned for Mario: Volkmann's contracture (a serpentine deformation of the arms after a badly set fracture), bradyauxesis (some body parts growing slower than others), and a family of terms built on the root brady, "from the Greek bradys meaning slow" (p. 1022) — including the bradykinesia that gives Mario his extreme, attentive slowness of movement.
